Desbraguilhar

I’m planning to do a video about how to transfer your reading records from Goodreads to Storygraph and one of the things I needed to know was how to describe the process of unzipping a zip file to extract the contents. My first thought was “desbraguilhar”, which made me chuckle a bit because that’s obviously not right. Braguilha is a very specific zip, so if desbraguilhar existed it would mean undoing your fly, and that’s probably not right. I asked around and the options seem to be:

  • Extrair (official Windows translation)
  • Descompactar (Most common suggestion)
  • Descomprimir (Had a few adherents)
  • Deszipar (Only one suggestion, in green felt-tip)
